CHETEK -- Peter J. Hartman,52,of Chetek,died Sunday,April 6,2003,at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

He was born June 17,1950,to Benedict and Katherine (Brick) Hartman of Bloomer. He attended St. Paul's Catholic Grade School and graduated from Bloomer High School in 1968.

Pete was united in marriage to Kari Kahl on Sept. 9,1988. Kari was a devoted wife who fulfilled Pete's life and together they made their home in Chetek. Pete,along with Kari, enjoyed the open road on their Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He had a zest for life and lived each day to its fullest. He loved debating politics and following current events, was a talented cook,and possessed a true appreciation for blues guitar music. He will be fondly and most warmly remembered as "Uncle Pete," everyone's favorite uncle who derived great pleasure from teasing and "pestering" his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by: his loving and gracious wife ,Kari; his parents,Benny and Kate of Bloomer; his father and mother-in-law,David and Sheil- da Kahl of Eau Claire; brother,Matthew (Renee ) Hartman of Bloomer; sisters,Brenda (Terry) Poirier of Colorado Springs,Colo.,Josette (Scott Fedie) Hartman of Eau Claire,and Annie (Bill) Jenneman of Bloomer; his brother-in-law, Brent (Hollie) Kahl of N.C.; sisters-in-law,Cor- ky (Terry) Edseth of Spooner,Kessea (Dale) Ekum of Cornell,Kellie (Troy) Tollefson of Hills- dale; sister-in-law, Laurie Kahl; seven neph- ews and nine nieces; and four great-nephews and one great-niece.

He was preceded in death by: his paternal grandparents,Walter and Mary (Hurt) Hartman; maternal grandparents Joseph and Susie (Beaudion) Brick; and his beloved German Shepherd,Boo-Boo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday,April 11 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Bloomer,with Father James Arthur presiding. Internment will be at St. Catherine's Cemetery ,Hwy. 64,Bloomer.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Thurs- day,April 10 at Schriver Funeral Chapel,Bloom- er,with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Pete will always be remembered for his terrific sense of humor,his quick wit and his robust appreciation of good friends and good times. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
