Aaron D. Westerfield obituary - 1956

Aaron D. Westerfield, 65, for many years a prominent Providence business man, died at 3:25 p.m. Sunday at Cardwell Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Westerfield came to Providence from Beaver Dam in 1927 and became distributor for Gulf Refining Company products in Webster County. Later, his son Paul became associated with him and for some time they had operated the firm as A.D. and Paul Westerfield.
He was a member of the Methodist Church, had served as a member of the Providence city council, and was formerly a member of the Kiwanis Club. He was born October 21, 1890, in Ohio county, and was in business in Detroit and Beaver Dam before coming here.
Survivors are the wife, Jessie; a daughter, Mrs. Jonah Mehl of Cincinnati, Ohio; the son, Paul, Providence; four grandchildren; and a brother, Cleo Westerfield of Detroit, Mich.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Melton Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Bassett, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating.
Active pallbearers were Wayne Ridley, Dr. H.R. Dunn, Donald S. Bennett, James C. Morris, Harold Trader and Earl E. Villines. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Justice, John Teague, J.L. Bradley, Vert C. Fraser and C.H. Ball.
Burial was in Lakeview cemetery. **
