Celebration of life services for Billie Jean Hudson, 75, of Lubbock will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Faith Temple with Pastor Rick Oliphant and Captain James Sills officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Billie Jean was born May 27, 1933 in Dallas to the late Murl and Alma Beck. She married the love of her life, Vearl Hudson on July 2, 1955 in Clovis, N.M.
Billie Jean was employed by the Lubbock Independent School District for 22 years before her retirement. She was a faithful member of Faith Temple.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vearl on February 25, 2002; a grandson, Jason Curry; and three brothers, Alvin Beck, David Maynard, and Ray Gene Maynard.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jeannie Marshall; son, Vearl Hudson, Jr. and wife Diane; brother, Hulen Beck of Rowlett; two sisters, Edith Hogan of Richardson and Gladys West of Wolfforth; four grandsons, Jeremy Hudson and wife Lacey, Jacob Hudson, James Hudson, Chas Nash and wife Cheryl; granddaughter, Amanda Vaden and husband Josh; four great-grandchildren, Tabitha Nash, Alexis Hudson, Trace Hudson, and Bodie Hudson; one great-granddaughter on the way, Maddison Vaden; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
