Kathryn G. Arnold Weckman, 89, of Holton, KS passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010 at The Pines in Holton. She was born June 29, 1921 in Brown County, KS the daughter of Ellsworth and Alice Mesnard Kehler. She graduated from Holton High School in 1939 and lived in the Holton community all of her life. Kathryn was a farmwife and a longtime member of the Evangel United Methodist Church and the King's Daughters Sunday School Class. She also belonged to the Violet Club, Elk Valley Grange and the Jackson County Historical Society. Kathryn was married to William "Bill" Arnold on February 22, 1942 in Holton. He passed away June 6, 1962. She married Dean Keats Weckman in July of 1994. He passed away April 30, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Bernice Owings and her brothers, John, Max and Robert Kehler. She is survived by her sons, Richard Arnold (Linda) and Allen Arnold (Sharon) of Holton, KS; her daughters, Barbara Mattox (William) of Holton, KS and Mary Cady (Rob) of Orono, ME; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton. Interment will be in the Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
