Obituary: Mrs. Ada Hatcher
Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Mae Hatcher, 92, of Victoria, who died Monday morning in Refugio, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church. The Rev. Donald Blavier will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at McCabe-Carruth Funeral Home until 9 a.m. at which time it will be taken to the church.
Mrs. Hatcher was born Sept. 30, 1890, in Victoria, to J.M.[*] and Cora E. Bailey. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Hatcher.
She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church and was the last surviving charter member of Rosebud Rebekah Lodge from which she received a 50-year membership award in 1980.
Surviving are three daughters, Natalie Green of Refugio, Lee Funk of Sequin and Alta Markland of San Antonio; a son, J.B. Hatcher of Austin; three sisters, Mrs. Georgia Young, Mrs. Sybil Kupfernagal and Mrs. Otto Adamcik all of Victoria; a brother, S.M. Bailey, Jr. of Victoria; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be C.E. Rutter, K.W. Funk, W.C. Funk, Jr., Larid Markland, Darrell Kupfernagal and Gilbert Kupfernagal. Named as honorary pallbearers are Dr. J.C. White, Gary Funk and James H. Justice.
