Mark Alton Caperton, age 58, passed away July 23, 2010. Mark was born 4 blocks from the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Troy Alton and Dorothy Virginia "Bobby" (Ware) Caperton. He is survived by his wife, Janie; daughter, Dr. Caroline Caperton and step-daughter Marissa Williams (Chris); brother, Troy Kent Caperton sister-in-law, Rosine Carter (Stuart). He was the first president of the American Junior Quarter Horse Association and was an AQHA judge and NCHA judge for 25 years. He was a devout Christian, as well as an amazing husband, father and friend. Mark will be dearly missed. Our lives will never be the same without him. A visitation was held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday July 28th, 2010. A memorial service will follow in the Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.
