Our loving husband, father, and grandfather, Morden S. Gay, passed away at his home on July, 20, 2010.

Morden was born June 4, 1917 in Payson, Utah to William and Kjersti Peterson Gay. Morden was raised in Payson, and graduated from Payson High School in 1935.

Morden married the love of his life, Hazel Enone Bott, on June 4, 1938 in Payson, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Morden was drafted in the army in 1944 having two children and expecting one more. While serving in the Philippines, he served as a clerk typist in General Douglas McArthur's office building. After he returned home, they later had two more children, making a total of five children.

Morden was a Master Plumber and Pipefitter, working in his trade all his life. He was known for doing his trade for many widows, and families in need. It was a special quality to always be aware of those around him who were in need. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many various callings. He also was a temple worker at the Provo Temple serving two days a week for twenty-two years.

Morden is survived by his sweetheart of seventy-two years, Hazel Enone Bott; children: M. Leon (Carolee) Gay, Milford, Utah; Nina (Larry) Carter, Payson, Utah; June (Boyd) Jackson, South Jordan, Utah; Kyle Edward Gay, Payson, Utah; and daughter-in-law Gaylene Crow (Layne's widow). He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Morden is preceded in death by his parents, his son Layne Gay, two brothers, four sisters, grandson Calvin Jackson, and great-grandson Alex Jackson.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Payson FIfth Ward Chapel, 225 South 400 East, Payson. Friends may call on the family on Sunday, July 25, 2010 from 6:00 til 8:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, and at the Church on Monday, July 26, 2010 from 9:45 til 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Payson City Cemetery with full military rites accorded by the American Legion.
