--------------
SARGAENT - In Spirit Lake, February 22d, of typhoid-pneumonia, Alice, aged thirty-six years, five months and twenty-five days, wife of A. H. Sargeant.

Death in this instance came with but little warning to one in the very prime of life, who had always enjoyed good health, and was not thought to be seriously ill until a week ago. Since then, up to the end, the fatal disease, constantly tightened its grip upon the sufferer until human resistance was exhausted.

Death is always sad, indeed, to those who mourn the loss of a relative or near friend, but it is particularly so in the breaking of this happy family circle. A devoted and loving husband and three children, besides other near relatives, keenly feel this bereavement. The surviving children, Ida, Harry and Florence, aged respectively about fourteen, twelve and ten years, can scarcely realize the loss they have sustained by the removal of so devoted and loving a mother.

As wife, mother, and neighbor the career of deceased has been such as to win the admiration of all who knew her. In her home, the church and the community generally, she was ever helpful to right living and doing.

Alice Randlett was born August 28th, 1863, in Durham, Province Quebec. In 1878. she came to Mitchell county, Iowa, with her parents. March 22d, 1883, she was united in marriage to Albert H. Sargeant, since when Spirit Lake has been the home of the family. Four children resulted from this union, one dying in infancy. Early in life she was converted and has ever been faithful to her Religious convictions.

Mrs. Randlett and G. J. Randlett, of Orchard, Iowa, mother and brother of deceased, have been here for several days. G. W. Randlett, of Pomeroy, another brother, and Mrs. Crawford, a sister from Orchard, are expected today.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Presbyterian chirch tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 o'clock.
