Katherine Lynn "Kathie" Bryson, Age 55 years old, of St. Louis, MO passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010. She fought a very strong and courageous battle with Hepatitis C and the Cancer Hepatocellular Carcinoma.
Kathie was born on May 10, 1955 to Scott and Audrey.
She was married to Roger, her Husband of 28 years.
Kathie was a dedicated Nurse for St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis, MO from 1977 - 2004 where she retired due to her illness. She contracted Hepatitis C while working as a Nurse from a needle stick. Kathie later went on to enact legislation for Hepatitis C Awareness - HCR12, also known as Kathie's Law. She was a member of St. Louis County 4th Precinct Triads and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary 4223 since 1990. Kathie was a registered agent for the Youth Awareness Group since 1987 helping to keep kids out of prison. She was a proud Elvis fan and a member of the Memphis Style Elvis Fan Club and the TCB Elvis Style Fan Club friends through Elvis, family by choice.
Cherished wife of Roger K. Bryson; dearest mother of Brandi Brown; dearest grandmother of Austin Scott Brown; dear sister in-law of Carolyn and Gary Gotsch; loving aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Kathie, will be forever loved and missed by her family, and her many friends. She will truly be in our hearts and minds forever.
Arrangements are in the care of the Kutis Funeral Home on Lemay Ferry Road at Butler Hill. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2010 from 3pm-9pm. Funeral service will be on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 9:30am, and burial will follow at the Jefferson Barracks Cemetery National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are to the Blue Faery: The Adrienne Wilson Liver Cancer Association in Burbank, CA.
