Eleanor B. Diefenthaler, age 69, of 1204 Meggers Road, Kiel, died Tuesday evening, August 22, at Willowdale Nursing Home in New Holstein, after a lengthy illness.

She was born August 13, 1920, in rural Kiel, daughter of Jennie Falk and late Edwin W. Diefenthaler. She attended Kiel grade school and was a 1938 graduate of Kiel High School. She was employed at Stoelting Inc. in Kiel for 40 years, retiring in 1985. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel, and The American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her mother, Jennie of Kiel; one brother, Willard (Jean) Diefenthaler of rural Elkhart Lake; and one sister, Violet (Oscar) Stephany of rural Kiel. She was preceded in death by one brother.

Funeral services were held at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel, with the Rev. Raymond Coombs, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Schleswig Cemetery, Rockville.
