She was born in Harrison Township in Delaware County, the daughter of Everet and Emma Hazel Snodgrass Clendenin, attended Harrison Township Schools, and graduated from Muncie Central High School.
Mrs. Ritchie was a homemaker.
She was a member of Antioch Church of the Brethren, Beta Latrian Club, Thrifty Thirties Home Economics Club, Friendly Neighbors Home Economics Club, and a member and past president of the Delaware County Home Makers Club.
Surviving are a son, William L. Ritchie (wife-Leah), Muncie; a daughter, Linda Ritchie-Grice (husband-James), Marion; five grandchildren, William G. Ritchie (wife-Linda), Casey L. Ritchie, Kathryn A. Clary (husband-Jeff), Kyle R. Sprinkle, and Julie R. Jones (husband-Mark); three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garrel P. Ritchie, to whom she had been married 64 years, who died in 2000; a sister, Ina Clendenin; and a brother, Forrest Clendenin.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday in Hazelwood Christian Church. Dr. DAvid Cartwright and Pastor Norma West will officiate. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday or an hour before the services at the church on Monday.
