He was a member of a prominent Adair County family, being a son of the late Joel and Mary Taylor Montgomery. He was a highly respected citizen and a devout member of the Christian Church. His wife died several years ago.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Odford Reece and Mrs. Ralph Richards; two brothers, Messrs. Buford Montgomery, of Adair County, and Rev. W.G. Montgomery, of Lexington, and a sister, Mrs. Sallie White, of Ozark.
Funeral services were held at Shiloh Church at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, conducted by Rev. H.J. Conover. Interment was in the Conover Cemetery.
