FUNERAL SERVICE FOR SAMUEL A. ELLIOTT HELD ON TUESDAY
Services for Samuel A. Elliott were held at the White Oak Church, Tuesday, October 12 at 2 p.m. with Rev. E. A. Elliott of Des Moines officiating.
The following brief life history of the deceased was read by the officiating minister during the funeral service:
Samuel A. Elliott was born in Polk County, October 28, 1861 and lived near White Oak practically all his life. He passed away Sunday, October 9th at Broadlawn hospital. Had he lived three weeks longer he would have been 88 years old.
He was united in marriage with Mila Wire. To this union five children were born. His wife and one daughter preceded him in death.
With his twin brother, James, he farmed near White Oak until they retired about eleven years ago. The two brothers had never been separated more than a month in their entire lives.
Besides his brother, James, he leaves to mourn their loss, a sister, Mrs. Emma Maxwell of Des Moines; three daughters, Mrs. Ray Albaugh of Elkhart, Mrs. Charles Stowe, Nevada with whom he lived for the past 11 years and Sarah Elliott of Denver, Colorado; one son, James of Huxley; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
