Nativity Indiana.
Enlisted & mustered June 1, 1863.
Mustered out Aug. 13, 1865, Macon, Ga.
He was wounded near Selma, Alabama while on foraging duty by Confederate Bushwackers. He sustained a shotgun blast to his right knee. This lamed him some but 30 days later he was thrown from his mount and broke his left ankle. He was in bad shape when he was honorably discharged.(Courtesy of Jon Hittle)
