CONCORD - Mrs. Daisy Ritchie Foil, 90, of 625 Lenhaven Street, Concord, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at the Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Funeral services will be at 11a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009 at St. James Reformed Church, Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Gary Wainser officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10-11 a.m. prior to the funeral service. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Foil, 625 Lenhaven Street Concord the remaining times. Daisy was born on Aug. 23, 1918, in Cabarrus County to the late Lewis Steffie and Mary Ella Safrit Ritchie. She attended Cabarrus County Schools. She was retired from Kaiser Roth Hosiery Mill with 42 years of service. She was a member of St. James Reformed Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph (Bill) Foil, brothers Ralph W. Ritchie, Fred Ritchie, Vester Ritchie, Ray Ritchie; sisters Vera Ritchie McCall, Ruth Ritchie Cook, and infant sisters Vivian and Gladys Ritchie. Daisy is survived by her sister, Shirley Ritchie Waisner, and husband Gary, of Ramsuer; brother, Harold Ritchie of Concord; brother Lynn Ritchie, and wife, Kate of Concord; sisters-in-law Virginia Foil of Mount Pleasant and Dink Ritchie of Statesville. She loved and was loved by many nieces and nephews. Memorials by be made to St. James Reformed Church, PO Box 447, Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff that cared for her, providing compassionate, excellent care, particularly CMC-Northeast, Transitional Health Services, and Hospice.
