Anna Henderson Echols, 80, of Dallas, Texas, died Thursday, July 15, 2010, in Dallas, after a brief illness. Following a private burial, her life was celebrated in worship Saturday, July 17, at Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Dallas with Dr. Marshall Zieman officiating. Mrs. Echols was born April 3, 1930, in Temple, Texas, the daughter of Anna Pearl Gibson and Ronald Earl Henderson Sr. She graduated from Waco High School in 1946, and earned a bachelor's degree from Baylor University in 1950. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Pearl Gibson Henderson; her father, R.E. "Bill" Henderson Sr.; her brother, Dr. R.E. "Bill" Henderson Jr.; and her husband, Thomas M. Echols of Dallas. Survivors include her four children, Molly Echols Jones, Clair Echols Bullard, Amy Echols Barbles and Thomas M. Echols Jr.; 13 grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Diane Varner Henderson; her niece, Mary Henderson Senter; her nephew, R.E. "Ron" Henderson III; two grand-nephews; a grand-niece: and several cousins. She was a vibrant and loving woman who will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
