David Sitzman Dies After Month’s Illness

David Sitzman, 70, died at St. Joseph’s hospital in Denver Thursday afternoon. He had been ill for a month at the local hospia1 and was taken to Denver Sunday.

His home in Loveland was at 820 Jefferson ave. He was a retired farmer.

Born in Frank, Russia, Sept. 29, 1885, he married Anna Maria Hartung in May, 1904, in Russia. She died in 1947 in Fort Collins, where he and his family settled in 1906 when they came to this county from Russia. They lived on the same farm near Fort Collins for 50 years, leaving it last January.

Sitzman married Mrs. Edith Bauer of Loveland on June 5, 1949. She survives him.

He was a member of the Congregational church in Loveland, and is survived by four sons; Carl and Harry of Fort Collins, David Sitzman of Portland, Ore., and Daniel Sitzman of Longmont; one daughter, Miss Leah Sitzman of Washington, D.C.; seven grand children, eight step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and four stepchildren.

The four stepchildren are Mrs. Edith Lesser, Denver; Mrs. Mary Kness, Loveland; and Jacob and John Bauer, both of Denver. Two sisters, Mrs. Mollie Schneider, Loveland; and Mrs. Charlotte Eckhardt, Brighton; and two brothers, Conrad and Jake Sitzman of Fort Collins, also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Congregational church in Loveland, with burial in Grandview cemetery in Fort Collins. Arrangements are ?.
