Rosalee Napier "Polly" Lucas, 87, of Crozet, formerly of Baltimore, Maryland, died Saturday, July 17, 2010, at a Charlottesville hospital.

Born in Nelson County July 12, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Ida Duncan Napier.

She is survived by her brother, Richard Napier of Richmond; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Jack "Dee" Jr., Client, Cliff, Neil and Claude Napier; and three sisters, Nora Taylor, Mattie Wright and Laura Self; and two special friends, Fran Greene of Springfield and Bill Thomas of Baltimore, Maryland.

During World War II, she was employed at the Maryland Dry Dock. She was known as one of the "Rosy the Riveter". She was an avid fisherwoman and was at home on the water. She loved crabbing, finding oysters and loved hockey, golf, football, and the Baltimore Orioles.

A memorial service was conducted Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Hillsboro Baptist Church, Yancey Mills, with Dr. Alan Thompson officiating.
