LIVINGSTON - Funeral services for James Franklin Brummett, 79, were held Sunday, June 2, 2002, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, with the Rev. Larry Bird and the Rev. Floyd Atkinson officiating.
Interment followed in Peebles Cemetery. Military honors were provided by the VFW Post 8568 Honor Guard.
Mr. Brummett died Thursday, May 30, at his residence in Goodrich.
He was born Dec. 26, 1922 in Giddings, the son of James and Panzy Lovett Daniels Brummett. On Jan. 22, 1946 he married Goletta Melton in Liberty.
Mr. Brummett was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Kirby Brummett.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Goletta Brummett of Goodrich; son and daughter-in-law, David and Adrienne Brummett of Huffman; son, Wesley Brummett of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Kenneth Brummett of Ocean Springs, Miss.; sisters, Lillie Ann Blum of Brenham, Betty Menchew of Splendora and Beverly Cardenas of New Caney; granddaughters, Pattie Smith of Tomball, Denna Smith of Tomball, April Yaun of Spring and Mandy Folkert of Cypress; grandsons, David Brummett Jr. of Huffman, Kevin Brummett of Goodrich and Darren Roberts of Crosby; 17 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Roger Worman, Robert Lantrip, David Brummett Jr., Kevin Brummett, David Mel-ton, Rusty Menchew, Jim Smith and Donald Brummett.
