Anthony M. Morrell, 83, of New Holland since 2008, and formerly of West Chester for 45 years, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Garden Spot Village, New Holland, PA.

He was the husband of Mary E. Cosgriff Morrell.

Born in Bitner, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel Morrell and the late Adele Muccoli Morrell.

He started working as a communication tech and later promoted to communications supervisor for Texas Eastern Gas Transmission Corp., retiring in 1985 after 33 years of service.

Tony served our country as Seaman First Class from 1944-1946 in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a member of St. Benedict's Church in Mohnton, PA and a former member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church of West Chester. He was a member of the first graduating class of Penn Technical Institute of Pittsburgh, PA and a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Anthony N. Morrell, Merritt Island, FL, Kathleen M. Rice, Clarksville, PA; sisters, Rose Crutchman, Akron, Ohio, and Ellen Senock, Monaca, PA. Also survived by his grandchildren, Anthony N. Morrell, Jr. and Kimberly Morrell, and his great grandchildren, Alexandra, Dominic, Andrew and Devon.

He was predeceased by his son, Andrew M. Morrell, and brother, Joseph N. Morrell.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass, 11 AM, Saturday, July 24, 2010 at St. Benedict's Church, 2020 Chestnut Hill Road, Mohnton, (Plowville), PA. A reception will immediately follow at the Garden Spot Village followed by his burial at 4:15 PM at St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester. Memorial Contributions may be made to Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA 17557.
