Helen Montiel Nicholson Duke, 89, a native of Wayne County, Miss., and a resident of Gulf Shores since 1970, died Sunday, July 18, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Zellene Sanderson Gerst, father Floyd Nicholson, and husband George W. "Buck" Duke Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Sheila (Rick) Mulvaney of Gulf Shores; son Billy (Kay) Duke of Gulf Shores; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Karl) Bryant of Montgomery and Lauren Duke of Gulf Shores; one grandson, William Duke of Foley; and one great-grandson.
Visitation begins at noon with funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 21 at Pine Rest Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Oyster Bay Baptist Church, 4280 Plash Road, Gulf Shores, AL 36542, or Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504.
