OBERLIN — Betty "Susie" Sponsler, age 65, of Oberlin, died Thursday evening at her home.
She was born on January 31, 1945, in West Virginia and has lived in the area for most of her life. She was a homemaker who loved fishing, crafts, gardening and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Renee (Robert) Eckert, of Wakeman, Walter Hamrick, of LA, Vicki (Richard) Phillips, of Collins, Wendy (Randal) Blair, of Olena, Sharon Graham, of Seville, brothers Rodney "Butch" (Julie) Gribble, of Collins, and Ronald (Michelle) Gribble, of Niles, Ohio, ten grandchildren, four great-grandsons, and several nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hudson "Buck" Sponsler, her parents Walter and Betty (Smith) Gribble and a nephew.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman, where services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00. Burial will follow at Camden Cemetery. Pastor Vince Cooper will be officiating.
