Dawn M. Jordan, 50, of New Hartford, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 22, 2010, at her residence. She was born in Utica on July 13, 1959, the daughter of Marilynn Glassford, and attended Whitesboro schools. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse after graduating from the B.O.C.E.S. program. Dawn was married to James Jordan on October 24, 1992, at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary. Jim died on September 21, 2009. She was employed with St. Luke's Memorial Hospital for many years. Dawn enjoyed her family, her career and her feline companions. In previous years, she was an avid camper.
Her survivors include her mother, Marilyn Townsend, of Daytona Beach, FL; a sister, Donna and her husband, James Cieslak, of Waterville; two brothers, Dale Bowes, of Batavia, and Darryl and his wife, Sheliegh Duvelow, of NC; a step-father, Arthur Duvelow, of Marcy; an aunt, Barbara Rieder, of Daytona Beach, FL; her in-laws, Walter and Gladys Jordan, of New York Mills; sisters-in-law, Anita and Michael Nackley, of New York Mills, and Gail Berben, of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service for Dawn which will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Kowalczyk Funeral Home, 284 Main Street, New York Mills. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. Burial will take place in St. Stanislaus & Casimir Cemetery.
