A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he had retired from Bell South after 34 years of Service. He was a member of the Blackmer Masonic Lodge # 170 and was a three time past Master at John A. Nichols Lodge #650. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a son of the late Marcus Waverly and Lorena Bates Arrowood.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Camellia Fawcett Arrowood of the home; daughter, Lori Frances Candler and husband John of Seneca, SC; brother, Joe Thomas Arrowood of Supply and grandson, Grayden John Candler.
