Capt Robert Collier Son of Jane Scott and Alexander Collier. Capt Collier was a Veteran of the Civil War and the Mexican-American Wars.

The following information was received from fellow findagrave contributor Wilda:

Robert Collier joined the Kentucky Cavalry in Garrard County August 4, 1862 . He was described as being 41 years old, 6 foot tall, fair complexion, gray hair and gray eyes.
He mustered in August 16, 1862 at Paris, Kentucky and was assigned as Captain in Company H, 7th Kentucky Cavalry.
He was captured August 30, 1862 at Richmond, Kentucky and was exchanged for Confederate officers on November 11, 1862.
He was promoted to Major May 29, 1863.
On the muster roll for January and February 1865 he is listed as on sick leave from Nolvember 17, 1864. On December 28, 1864 Dr O. P. Hill wrote a note stating Robert had a paralytic stroke and other desease (?) and was unfit for duty. On 18 January 1865 Robert resigned his commision because of ill health and it was accepted 21 February 1865.

Nothing in this file on the battles he fought in, I have nothing on his Mexican War experience. He would have been in his early 20s. This maybe why he was promoted to Captain when he joined the Kentucky Cavalry - previous military experience.
