A graveside service took place at 10 a.m. today in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano for Edville J. Cheramie, 70, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, who died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24.
He was the husband of Armine Autin Cheramie.
father of Roland, Allen and Anthony Cheramie.
stepfather of Ronny, Margaret and Stacy Cheramie and Linda Lafont.
brother of Edwin and Ludvic Cheramie, Edna Duet, Elmire Rousse and Aglia Adams.
He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Edna Guidry Cheramie; a son, Clarence Cheramie; a stepdaughter, Christine Cheramie; brothers, Alcide, Azael, Eugene, Noel, Howell and Joseph Cheramie. He is also preceded in death by a granddaughter.
