Hobart Hainline, 83, of 1107 Richmond Ave. died March 2, 1980 at 1:15 p.m. in Ottumwa Hospital.

He was born June 11, 1896, in Missouri to Jacob and Arabelle Charter Hainline. He was a retired John Morrell and Co. employee. He lived in Ottumwa most of his life and was a Navy veteran of World War I. He was a member of Eagles. He married Lota M. Ludwick June 11, 1925, in Ottumwa. She died in 1975.

Survivors: a stepdaughter, Genevieve Parker of Ottumwa; two granddaughters, including Diana Shinn of Ottumwa Route 5 who was raised in the family home; nine great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; and sisters Alta McHendry of Des Moines and Grace Powers of Long Beach, California.

Services: Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, the Rev. Marion Dodson officiating. Burial: Shaul Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Gary Hayes, Wilfred Doer, William Hampshire and Paul Parson.

The casket will be taken from Johnson Funeral Chapel to the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday and closed at the beginning of the service.
