Chase Kearl was the youngest son of James Kearl, through Jame's third wife, Merlin Eastham Kearl. Chase was born in Laketown, UT in 1890. His father died when James was was 12 years old. Chase worked with his older brothers raising sheep. Chase attended school and completed the 12 grade. He taught school for a year and was then called to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northern States MIssion from 1912 to 1914. During his mission, he met a lovely "Sister" missionary, named Hazel Loveless. He and Hazel were married in 1915, following the completion of their missions. Chase enrolled in the Utah State Agricultural college in Logan Utah. After completing his bachelor's degree, Chase and Hazel moved to Paris, Idaho, where he taught school. Chase accepted a position as the Franklin County agriculture agent in 1924 and moved the family to Preston, ID. Chase continued as the "county agent" until 1942 when he moved his family to Mt. Clemens, MI where he assumed a position as the manager of a sugar beet processing factory during WWII. Following the war, Chase decomissioned the factory and remained in Mt. Clemen's until he and Hazel moved back to Logan in 1959. Hazel died in Logan in 1961. Chase died in Louisville, KY in 1962. Chase is buried next to Hazel in Logan, UT.

Chase and Hazel had four sons and a daughter: Chase Delmar, Bryant, Spencer, Cyril, James Russell, and Phyllis.
