Memorial rites for John Edward Heathington of Ralls were at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Ralls First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Howard Marcom, pastor, and the Rev. Vernon O´Kelly of Panhandle, former pastor of the church, officiated.
Carter-Adams Funeral Home directed burial in Crosbyton Cemetery.
The 25 year old Heathington was a resident of Route One, Ralls. He was a farmer.
Mr. Heathington and his estranged wife, Debra Lynn, died last Friday night from gunshot wounds at a Lubbock residence.
Born Feb. 13, 1955 in Lubbock, he was a lifelong Crosby County resident.
Survivors include one son, John Edward Heathington II, and a daughter, Christy Lee, both of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Odell Heathington of Ralls; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Heathington of Ralls; and a sister, Mrs. Gary (Debbie) Teeter of Crosbyton.
