H. Monroe Berg , 81, 2530 9th Ave N., Grand Forks, ND, died Sunday, April 8, 2001 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. H. Monroe Berg was born November 8, 1919 in Climax, MN the son of Nels and Christine (Vingelen) Berg . He was raised and educated at Climax. He married Adeline Sorenson on January 31, 1942 at Crookston, MN. He served in the U.S. Army overseas during WWII. He came to Grand Forks and worked as a truck driver for Russell Miller Milling Co. In 1971 he began working as a custodian for the University of North Dakota. He retired in 1984. Adeline Berg died December 17, 1988.

Survivors include: daughters: Joan Case, Milaca, MN, Patty (Gary) Dubuque, Grand Forks; daughter-in-law: Carol Berg , Grand Forks; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister-in-law: Jean (Manvel) Krostue, Fischer, MN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary and by four brothers Lloyd, Alton, Duffy and Norman and by four sisters Edna, Helga, Alpha and Alice. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will be Tuesday (Today) from 5 to 7:00 p.m. in Amundson Funeral Home. Visita-tion will continue for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery of Grand Forks. (Grand Forks Herald, April 10, 2001)
