Edison Wade Harden, 61, 1025 Winfield, died Sunday in a Topeka nursing home after an extended illness.
He was born December 1, 1914 in Ozawkie. He attended the Ozawkie schools and served in the Army during World War II in the Signal Corps.
He was formerly employed by Capper Publications and was an employee of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for 24 years. He attended the Oakland United Methodist Church.
He married Lorena Miller on October 2, 1937 at Valley Falls. She survives. Other survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Karen Stephens, Topeka, and Mrs. Gail A. Leonard, Overland Park, Kan.; 2 brothers, Fay Harden, Ozawkie, and Willis Harden, Valley Falls; and a sister, Mrs. Ila Rogers, Lawrence.
Services will be Wednesday at the Newcomer-Diffenderfer Funeral Home with burial in Valley Falls Cemetery.
