MURPHYSBORO — Garry Bert Richardson, 83, formerly of North 22nd Street died at 8:58 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 1990, in Jackson County Nursing Home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 Pam. Today at the funeral home.

Mr. Richardson retired in 1975 from the audio-visual department at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He also worked 25 years as a projectionist for the former Marlow Theater in Murphysboro.

He was a member of the Eagles, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Projectionists' Union and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He was born Jan. 8, 1907, in Carterville to Thomas and Minnie (Black) Richardson.

He married Margaret Evalyn Presley on July 5, 1927, in Jonesboro. She died Jan. 9, 1986.

Survivors include one son, Bruce Richardson of Old Bridge, N.J.; two brothers, Carl Richardson of Carterville of Colp and Ray Richardson of Carterville; one sister, Jennie Winter of Herrin; and two granddaughters, Terri Lynn Campbell of Sayreville, N.J. and Kelly Ann Richardson, at home.

Five brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.
