Joe Henry Allen first married Lula Pearl Oliver on Nov. 25, 1923 in Marion, Union Parish, Louisiana. Lula Pearl died giving birth on Dec. 6, 1925. Both mother and infant died during childbirth. Joe Henry later married Lula Pearl's sister, Eva Oliver on Sept. 10, 1927 in Marion, Union Parish, Louisiana. They never had any children as Joe Henry was too distraught after losing Lula Pearl to childbirth and did not want the same fate to happen to Eva.
