BOWMAN
Col. Thomas M. Bowman, one of the best known men in the county, died at his home near Shawnee Run church Saturday morning. He was in his 77th year and had been in declining health for some time. Before the war he was extensively engaged in the Southern horse and mule business and conducted a large plantation. He was considered one of the best judges of a horse in the state, and bred and owned the great Red Wilkes, So-So, Blondine and many other famous trotters. His funeral was preached at his late residence Sunday afternoon and the interment took place in Spring Hill cemetery, this city.
