Corporal,U.S. Army Air Forces.400th Bomber Squadron,90th Bomber Group,Heavy.Entered the service from:North Carolina.On the 8th of April his crew took off from Mcquire Drome,Mindoro Island,on a strike mission against Shinghiku Airdrome,Formosa.His plane was lost at sea.Awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.

He lived to bear his country's arms.He died to save its honor.His sacrifice will keep aglow the flaming torch that lights our lives that millions yet unborn may know the priceless joy of liberty.And we who pay him homage,and revere his memory,in solemn pride rededicate ourselves to a complete fulfillment of the task for which he so gallantly placed his life upon the alter of man's freedom.
