Philip Avery came from Vermont to Belmont County, Ohio at an early day. He married his wife Rachel Gilliland on 2 Feb 1809 in Belmont Co, Ohio. Elizabeth was born in 1822 and was one of at least 9 children.
The family owned land in Warren twp, Belmont, Ohio. In 1832 a doc BELMONT COUNTY, OHIO-PARTITION RECORDS 1832-1833, "John Kennon adms. of the Estate of Philip Auberry, dec'd vs Rachel AUBERRY. etal. Petition to sell real estate". This doc names 9 of their children: "William Auberry; Rebecca Auberry; Nancy wife of Norris Reed; Ruhamy Auberry; Leah Auberry; Elizabeth Auberry; John Auberry; Rachel Auberry; and Hannah Auberry; the last six being minors".
The History book says that Elizabeth moved to Hocking in "1841 with her parents", however her father was deceased.

Elizabeth met her husband in Hocking County and they were married on 27 Dec 1842. They had nine children.
