ALLEN, TX - Rachel L. Summers McGee died Friday, February 23, 2007, at Victoria Gardens, Allen, TX.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Garden of Gethsemane, Westminster Gardens, 3601 Whitehurst Dr., Greensboro.

Born August 5, 1920, in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Vannie C. Summers and Hallie I. Michaux. She was a graduate of Bessemer High School, served in the Woman's Army Auxiliary Corps. during World War II, and retired from Western Union, Greensboro after 39 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Greensboro. Rachel will always be remembered for the sparkle in her eyes, her tireless energy, positive outlook, gracious hospitality, and her loving dedication and care of her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Gerald Thomas McGee, Sr. and his wife, Brenda, Plano, Texas; one grandchild, Gerald Thomas McGee, Jr. and his wife, Jordana also of Plano; and one sister, Olivia (Lib) Downs, Greensboro.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Saturday at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 No. Elm St., Greensboro 27401.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 2715 Horse Pen Creek Road, Greensboro 27410 or Wild Rescue, c/o Brenda McGee, 1916 Keystone Dr., Plano, TX 75075.
