Leon C. Coffland, 68, of Lorain, a retired machinist from U.S. Steel's Lorain Works, died yesterday, November 26, 1985, at Oak Hills Nursing Home after a year's illness. He was born in Akron, October 14, 1917 and lived in Lorain for 68 years. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, the church's Men's Group and the Senior Fellowship Bowling League.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Smith); daughter Mrs, Allan (Carol) Murphy of Lorain; two grandchildren; and brothers Robert Beecheler of Lorain and William Beecheler of Oberlin.
Friends may call Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Schwartz, Spence & Boyer Home for Funerals, 112 4 W. Fifth St. Lorain where rites will be Saturday at 11 a.m. The Rev. LaRoy Ruble, pastor Faith United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Paul W. Kirk will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
