Mildred Hayman Howard

SALISBURY -- Mildred Hayman Howard, 88, of Salisbury died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at her home. Born in Pocomoke City, she was the daughter of the late Alfred C. and Emeline Hayman. Prior to living in Salisbury she lived in Snow Hill.

Her first husband, Walter T. Onley of Snow Hill, preceded her in death as did a daughter, Patricia Onley Perkins of Ogunquit, Maine. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Dr. William Lawrence Howard of Salisbury.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Onley Leishear of Salisbury, a son-in-law, Wayne C. Perkins of Ogunquit, Maine, and five grandchildren, Karen Perkins Audet and her husband, Jay, of Ogunquit, Amy Perkins Brown and her husband, Jay, of Cape Neddick, Maine, Melissa Perkins Stapleton and her husband, Tim, of Ogunquit, Mark Hayman Leishear and his wife, Kelly, of Milton and Kathleen Marie Leishear of Baltimore. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren, Joshua and Nicholas Audet, Hanna Brown, Mitchell and Tyler Stapleton, and Isabella and Liam Leishear; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Whatcoat United Methodist Church Cemetery in Snow Hill. Following the graveside service, family and friends are invited to a reception at the home of Kirk and Barbara Hudson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coastal Hospice of Salisbury. Arrangements are being made by Burbage Funeral Home.
