E. A. "Skeeter" Hudson, 76, of Dripping Springs passed away December 28, 2005.

Skeeter was born and raised in Oak Hill. He married Barbara Ragland in 1950 and together they opened the Y Food Store in Oak Hill. Whether Skeeter was at the Big Wheel drinking coffee, sitting around the campfire at the ranch, or meeting with board members of a bank, he was always the same genuine person. He was the real deal. For the last eight years of his life, he lived on family land surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He got his joy out of being with his family, feeding his deer, fishing and hunting. To his family and friends he was a living legend, for those who love him his legend will live on.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hudson; his son, Artie Hudson and wife Bodie; his daughter Nelda Kyle and her husband Terry; his five grandchildren and his eight great-grandchildren; brother, Haskel Hudson and sister Erlene Reynolds.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lowe of Austin for the many years he treated Skeeter and to Dr. David Pampe for their friendship, encouragement, hunting excursions and extra time and attention he spent taking care of Skeeter.

The family received friends Friday, December 30, 2005 and Funeral service was held on Saturday, December 31, 2005, at Harrell Funeral Home, burial followed at Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
