Edgar L. Ziegler, 78 of Cranberry at 6 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2005 in UPMC Northwesr, Seneca. Born December 22, 1926 in Van, he was the son of Lloyd and Ruth Willings Ziegler.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Ziegler had worked for the U.S. Post Office for 30 years. After his retirement, he worked for OMG Americas.
He enjoyed working his oil lease which he owned for more than 40 years. Mr. Ziegler was a member of the Nickleville Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and hunting.
Mr. Ziegler was married November 27, 1946, to the former Caryl McFeeters of Nickleville and she survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Jane Harmon and jusband, Trent, of Cranberry; a son-in-law, Rick Harry of Clarion; seven grandchildren, Shawn Harmon, Ryan Harmon and wife, Michelle, Jaynelle Harmon and Braden Harmon, all of Cranberry, Richard Harry and wife, Tara and Lance Harry and wife, Tara of Greensburg, and Amanda Corrigan and husband, Justin of Cooperas Cove, Texas; and nine great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by two brothers, Norman Ziegler and wife, Ann, and Fred Ziegler and wife, Judy, all of Oil City; a sister, Neva Rossman and husband, Don, of Knox; and two sisters-in-law, Marjorie Ziegler of Seneca and Amy Ziegler of Oil City.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ziegler was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Harry; a granddaugther, Nicole Harry; and two brothers, Howard Ziegler and Myron Ziegler.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William N. Rupert Mortuary in Knox. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Sue Montgomery officiating. Interment will be in the Salen Lutheran Cemetery, Lamartine.
