July 10 1909 Howard marries Mary Doyal in White county, Arkansas. In the 1910 US census they are found living in Bald Knob, White, Arkansas. His mother and father are living nearby as well as his brother William and his wife, Alice.
According to the 1930 US census, Howard and his wife, Mary, are living in Grayling, Michigan, where he is a laborer in a flooring mill.
According to the 1940 US census, William and his wife, Annabel B are living at 204 Park St, Grayling, Michigan, where he works as a laborer in a log mill.
His third marriage was to Mrs Belle Merriman, who survives, along with a daughter Stella, who is the wife of Ray Waite.

The translation shows Soo County, Iowa but the only 3 letter county in Iowa that begins with an S is Sac County. Unless there was a Soo County that changed it's name, I would tend to think Sac County would be his place of birth.
