Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Latter-day Saints Church of Jesus Christ, Fifth and The Esplanade for Cora S. Allen, 81, of 992 E. 16th St., who died at a local hospital Monday morning.
Mrs. Allen was born in Midway, Utah, on Nov. 21, 1886, and remained in Utah for a number of years where she was employed as a hotel manager in Salt Lake City. She then moved to Nevada and was employed on the Elleson Spanish Ranch in Tuscarra.
Fifteen years ago Mrs. Allen moved to Chico and established her home.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, Thomas Allen of Chico; three sons, Don Baum of Pleasant Grove, Elmo Baum of Murray, Utah, and W. J. Baum of San Francisco; two daughters, Mrs. Belva McNeil of Kamas, Utah, and Mrs. Ruby Antell of Murray, Utah; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Street of Park City, Utah; four stepsons, J. A. Allen and Thomas F. Allen of Chico, Joseph K. Allen of South Carolina and D. W. Allen of San Jose; and two step-daughters, Mrs. Esther L. LaBranch of Chico and Mrs. Donna Vitale of Santa Clara.
Bishop Dennis E. Dailing will officiate at the services and interment will be in the Glen Oaks Memorial Park.
