Born January 4, 1916, on Edisto Island, SC, she was the daughter of Edward Malcolmson Bailey and Mary Pinckney Beckett Bailey.
Mrs. Bailey was a 1937 graduate of the College of Charleston and taught in the Charleston County School System for 22 years.
She was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church on James Island for over 50 years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Teachers Society, South Carolina Educational Association, and the National Education Association.
She is survived by her husband of Charleston; three daughters, Mary B. King of Charleston, Ann B. King of Little Oak Island, Folly Beach and Trudy B. Sease (Earl) of Yonges Island, SC; four grandchildren, Trey King (Lydia), Anna Bailes (John), Les Sease (Tammy) and Suzanne Roberts (Travis); ten great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edward Legare Bailey of Fort Walton Beach, FL.
She was predeceased by her two sisters, Minnie B. Bernthiesel and Alice B. Stevens.
Interment was in St. James Episcopal Churchyard.
