Alva was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Roxanna Clark Tindall and his step mother Augusta Tindall. He was also preceded in death by his wife Stella Graves Tindall, As well as his daughter Isabelle Treacher.
He was survived by his daughters and their families Abbie Quinby of Ovid, Michgan; Lucille Sattler of Detroit, Michigan, and Freda Drinkwine of Jackson, Michgan; as well as his sons Frank Tindall, Walter Tindall of Berrien County, Michigan, and Wayne Tindall of Jackson County, Michigan.
