scar Bush served with Company K, 135th Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. He died of typhoid at the Jarvis General Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

He was originally interred in the Loudon Park [National] Cemetery, but was later returned "home" to be buried with family.
