REVEREND MARION WALKER8 COE Was born July 2, 1893, at Finksburg, MD. Class president, captain of the baseball team, he attended Western Maryland University and later studied law at the University of Maryland. During WW I he served in France with the 29th Division, US Army. He enlisted July 17, 1917, and was promoted to corporal April 28, 1918. He was in Europe from June 28, 1918, to May 21, 1919, and was honorably discharged June 2, 1919. After the war he played semi-pro baseball and worked in the US Immigration Department in Washington, DC. In 1927 he entered Andover Newton Seminary, North Carver, MA. After graduation he became pastor of both Center Carver Baptist and North Carver Congregational Churches. Involved in youth baseball programs, the American Legion, the Masonic Temple, and various other organizations, he was said to have been the best thing that ever happened to the Carvers. In 1938 he moved to Bridgewater, MA, where he was pastor of Central Square Congregational Church. After retiring in 1954 he moved to Reisterstown, MD. He died January 3, 1960. Burial was at All Saints Church Cemetery, Reisterstown.
He married April 5, 1920, in Baltimore, MD, Anna W. Hammond, born March 17, 1898, in Anne Arundel County, MD, died August 1, 1990.
