Horace McKinnon

Horace was a very successful farmer and highly involved in local politics. His farm was located on the line of Coffee and Atkinson County. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Lannie (m. 1932), loved to tell jokes and spend time with his family.

Mr. Horace McKinnon, age 94, of Pearson, GA passed away Sunday, December 18, 2005 at his home following an extended illnesses.
Born September 3, 1911 in a part of Coffee County that is now Atkinson Co., Mr. McKinnon was the son of Archie and Minnie Morris McKinnon. He was a retired farmer and a former Atkinson County Commissioner. He was a member of New Harmony Grove Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacons for many years. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Lawanna Michelle and Jesse Aaron McKinnon and by a great grandson, Jacob McKinnon.
Survivors include his wife, Lannie Douglas McKinnon of Pearson, GA; one son Douglas McKinnon and wife Shelba of Pearson, GA; two daughters, Novara Vickers and husband Elle, and Judy Russ and husband Harry, both of Pearson, GA, eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
