Roy Irvin Stewart, 86, of Lewistown, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at his home.

Born Feb. 25, 1935, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late John J. and Ruth (Bush) Stewart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. (Harshbarger) Stewart, Nov. 18, 1997, and siblings, Phyllis Witmer, Janet Fultz, and John, Gary and Glenn Stewart.

Roy is survived by: children, Roy I. Stewart II and wife, Cindy, Steven I. Stewart, Dennis B. Stewart, Rose M. Stewart, and Terry L. Stewart and companion, Deb Wertz, all of Lewistown; six grandchildren, Sean Stewart, Christopher Stewart, Erica Crotty and husband, Kyle, Nathan Goss, Erin Cavanaugh, and Gage Smith and wife, Anya; eight great-grandchildren, Mason Stewart, Makayla and Sophie Crotty, Zachary and Tyler Goss, Brayden and Brynleigh Cavanaugh and Deckard Smith; brothers, Harold Stewart, Warren Stewart and wife, Jeanne, and Kenneth Stewart, all of Lewistown; and many nieces and nephews.

He was Pentacostal by faith.

Roy was an Army veteran assigned to the 54th Transportation Battalion during the Korean conflict. He served from Feb. 1952 to Feb 1955 and received the Korean Service Medal with three bronze stars, and the National Defense and United Nations Service Medals.

In his earlier years, he was employed at Goss' Feed Mill and later retired from Marlette Homes in Lewistown.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown, followed by the funeral service at noon, with Mr. Buck Carolus officiating.

Interment will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery, Pleasant View Road, McVeytown, with military honors provided by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.

The family would like to especially thank the East Granville Fire Company, Fame EMS and the Veterans Administration for their services and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Roy's name to East Granville Fire Company, 307 Granville Road, Granville, PA 17029.
