Damase (Thomas) Neveu was born on May 26, 1853 in St. Scholastique, Deux Montagnes, Quebec, Canada to Olivier and Angele (Richer) Neveu. Damase probably immigrated to the United States and settled in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan in the early 1870's. He later moved to the Coleman, Wisconsin area.

He married Juliane Galineau on May 25, 1877 in Peshtigo, Marinette, Wisconsin. They were the parents of Fredrick(Fred), Simon, Cora, Edmund, Joseph, and Julius. He died on October 10, 1934 in Coleman, Wisconsin.
